Annabel Barker Agency offers a short internship. It can be offered remotely or via our Melbourne office. The internship is paid at publishing industry rates and runs part time across four weeks.

This internship offers an exciting, hands-on opportunity to experience working within a busy children’s literary agency; including learning about selling rights both locally and internationally, interacting with clients, creating manuscript reports, marketing and market research.

No specific experience or qualifications are necessary. We welcome applications from people from a range of backgrounds, expertise and experience and who may not have traditional access to the publishing sector.

Please note we specialise in writing and illustration for children and young adults and applicants should have a passion for the same. Applicants must be living in Australia.
